Faking it as a Nurse to get Drugs
By Stingray Branding In Blog, News On July 1, 2016
Karen Towery Stone, 29, of Goose Creek used a fake Social Security number, name and driver’s license to get a job as a licensed practical nurse at Somerby, a retirement home in Mount Pleasant .
Somerby noticed that methylphenidate, a generic name for Ritalin, was missing from its stores and had been signed out by Stone. An investigation revealed that Stone was not licensed as a nurse, and was on probation for obtaining prescription drugs by fraud in August 2013. Stone faces up to one year in jail and a $50,000 fine for the unlawful practice of nursing.
